Spatial Fields

The Spatial Fields series begins with an interest in minimalism — specifically the capacity of one or two colours to carry emotional weight without further assistance. The use of colour in Eastern cultures, where a single hue can hold symbolic and spatial significance, became a point of reference throughout.

Each work is an experiment in doing more with less. The paint is applied with restraint, the palette reduced to its essentials. What remains is a surface that holds its tension through proportion and tone rather than variety or gesture.

The works are made to be seen together. Placed in proximity, they enter into a quiet conversation, each colour field adjusting against the next. They can be arranged in different groupings within a single space, their relationship shifting depending on how they are composed.
